Moon Sweepers Companion · Reviewed · Patch 1.0.4

THE SHORT ANSWER

Use a garage to manage owned vehicles and test its unloading route before expanding. Patch 1.0.3 lets garages recall vehicles and fixes vehicle loss when a garage is demolished.

What does the garage do?

The developer’s 1.0.3 notes say owned vehicles work at every garage: garages can recall, store and upgrade them, and should not offer a duplicate vehicle you already own. This makes the garage more than a purchase screen. It is the connection between a vehicle’s cleaning work and the rest of your operation.

The tips demonstration shows vehicle purchases and upgrades within the garage, then unloads a vehicle by driving onto the garage platform. Its contents feed the connected output route. Build and inspect that route before a long cleaning trip, so the first full load has somewhere to go.

The same demonstration says players can recall their own vehicles. Do not assume that a shared Upgrade Matrix makes every crewmate’s vehicle appear under your recall controls.

Test the garage with a small load.

Start by driving a short, accessible cleaning pass. Return to the garage platform and watch the transfer, then follow the material through the output line. A successful unload is only one part of the test: the receiving line must also deliver to the base or the intended processing input.

If the garage fills but the belt does not move, stop and inspect the outgoing connection and the next receiver. If a downstream chamber is waiting for power, adding another load does not solve that problem. Keep a working route to sale while you build out processing, rather than assuming every new load must wait for the whole factory.

The Ginger Empire demonstrates an overflow route that sends some lower-tier material directly to sale. Treat this as a layout example. It is useful when production cannot keep up, but the footage does not establish one ideal ratio for every vehicle and factory.

Controls shown in the vehicle demonstration.

The tips recording demonstrates F to enter or leave, L for vehicle lights, Shift for boost and C for cruise control once unlocked. On the Mega Vacuum Rover it also uses the scroll wheel to change suction levels. These are the demonstrated controls for that setup; read the prompts in your current game before assuming every vehicle behaves identically.

Try the controls on an open, short route before a long pass. Check steering with the collection mode active as well as inactive, and test how you return to the garage. More collection speed is only useful when you can unload without constantly manoeuvring around a blocked entrance.

If a control shown in footage is unavailable, inspect whether that function needs an upgrade, especially cruise control. A player demonstration of an upgraded vehicle is not evidence that a new purchase starts with all the same features.

Does removing a garage still delete vehicles?

The official 1.0.3 notes say demolishing a garage no longer deletes its stored vehicles. They move to another garage, or wait for the next one you build. This directly addresses the launch-day thread where IDED and other players reported losing vehicles while trying to reposition a garage.

That old thread is still useful evidence of the problem, but its warning is not the current documented rule. Update first, check your owned vehicles in the garage and preserve your save before a major rebuild. The patch describes vehicle preservation; it should not be read as a guarantee about every loose capsule or all material in a construction area.

A smaller layout test reduces the need to rebuild. Leave room for the approach, unload a modest load, and watch the complete outlet path before placing a much larger surrounding factory.

Compare vehicles by the whole trip.

Do not judge the next purchase only by its top speed. Your useful cycle includes reaching dusty ground, collecting, returning, unloading and waiting for the receiver. If most of that cycle is spent queuing at the garage, a larger or faster vehicle can leave the actual bottleneck untouched.

Use the same short route when comparing an upgrade. Note whether the changed vehicle spends more time cleaning or simply delivers a bigger queue. This is a practical way to evaluate your own layout without relying on an unverified launch-week vehicle price and capacity table.

For a crew, agree who is using each active route before recalling a vehicle. The garage’s convenience should help the cleaning session, not interrupt another player in the middle of a pass.

Questions players ask

Can another garage recall my vehicle?

The 1.0.3 developer notes say garages can recall, store and upgrade your owned vehicles.

Will demolishing the only garage delete stored vehicles?

The 1.0.3 notes say the vehicles wait for the next garage if there is no other one. Preserve your save before rebuilding and do not extend this statement to all stored material.

Why does unloading stop?

Follow the garage outlet and check the next receiver, material queue and processing power. Test a small load before replacing the garage.
