Moon Sweepers UpgradesBuy the upgrade that fixes your bottleneck.

Moon Sweepers Companion · Reviewed · Patch 1.0.4

THE SHORT ANSWER

Filling your container too often? Start with capacity. Spending most of the trip walking back? Fix transport first. If you are saving for a vehicle, compare its cost before upgrading the brush you plan to replace.

What should you buy next?

Find the delay you keep noticing and start with the matching option below. These are practical priorities, not a tested ranking by return on investment. Check the current menu for prices and prerequisites.

  • Container fills repeatedly: compare capacity for the tool you actually use.
  • Cleaning passes take most of the session: compare brush coverage with the next tool or vehicle.
  • Long return trips: inspect the packager route or a nearby garage before buying collection speed.
  • Unloading takes longer than driving: inspect transfer upgrades and the receiving belt.
  • Dust arrives reliably but cash is the obstacle: inspect the economy options and their displayed effect.
  • A processing machine stops at night: solve power before buying more input collectors.

A concrete hand-tool route to try

If you plan to keep sweeping by hand, use this sequence as a starting point. In The Ginger Empire’s Top Tips demonstration, the player buys through the required tool unlocks, chooses the Wide Broom, then increases its container capacity and cleaning coverage. That is a demonstrated route, not a claim that it is the cheapest route for every save.

If you are already close to buying the vehicle you want, pause before spending on more hand-tool upgrades. Inspect the vehicle and garage costs together, and leave room to connect the garage’s output. A larger collector will not clear a blocked unloading route.

  • At the Supply Wall, compare the next broom with the tool you intend to keep. Buy prerequisites only when the game requires them for that purchase.
  • With that tool equipped, inspect its capacity option in Containers. Prioritize it when repeated returns interrupt short cleaning passes.
  • Open Cleaning and compare coverage improvements when sweeping itself takes most of the trip.
  • After one working delivery, inspect Logistics if unloading is slow, or Economy if you need more cash from an already reliable route.
  • Run one more load before the next purchase. Check whether the same delay remains.

Why not buy every early upgrade?

An upgrade only helps while you use the equipment it improves. A larger container can cut return trips with a brush, but it may get little use if you buy a vehicle next. Compare the next two purchases before spending your remaining cash.

The Ginger Empire’s demonstration shows containers, cleaning, suit, logistics and economy options. Prices and prerequisites belong in the current game menu; this guide helps you decide which option to inspect first.

Are upgrades shared in multiplayer?

Yes. Patch 1.0.3 changed the Upgrade Matrix so the whole crew uses the host’s matrix, and a purchase by any player upgrades everyone. The developer also says older saves retain the highest level bought by anyone. That directly supersedes launch-day discussions in which each player needed a separate economy or logistics purchase.

Before a crew spends its money, have one person name the upgrade and let everyone check its current level. After a purchase, verify the new level in the same host’s session. Do not assume that the matrix rule makes every vehicle or other owned object interchangeable; the patch describes vehicle access separately.

When is saving for a vehicle the better choice?

Compare the upgrade with what you will actually use next. If you enjoy the hand-tool loop and expect to keep using it, capacity and coverage can reduce repetition. If your next planned session is mostly driving, inspect vehicle prices and the garage route before putting the remaining budget into a brush.

This tradeoff is why the Steam review sample does not support one confident, universal tier list. Several reviewers felt replacement tools arrived so quickly that intermediate upgrades lost their value. Other players enjoyed the gradual improvement. We use that disagreement to explain a choice, not to tell every player to skip the same equipment.

A useful check is to write down the next two purchases and what each replaces. If both solve the same problem, you may not need both immediately. If one removes a bottleneck in the other’s delivery route, doing the transport work first can make the later purchase useful sooner.

Check the benefit on one load.

Record what slowed the old route, make one purchase, and run the same route again. Compare the number of trips, time spent unloading, or the point where the machine waits. Keep the comparison simple: changing the vehicle, belt layout and processing chain at once makes it hard to know what helped.

For example, a player whose garage output is backed up should first make the output move. Buying another vehicle adds more dust to that same queue. Once the queue drains, a vehicle upgrade can be judged by how much work it performs rather than how long it sits waiting.

If an upgrade shown in a video is missing, open the relevant menu and read the requirements shown there. Check the version and whether the crew already owns the upgrade. Avoid spending on unrelated prerequisites just because another guide lists them without showing the menu.

Questions players ask

Do I buy every brush upgrade?

Compare the benefit with the next tool you plan to use. The source material does not establish that buying every intermediate upgrade is optimal.

Are economy upgrades still personal?

The 1.0.3 developer notes say the entire crew uses the host’s Upgrade Matrix. Launch-day advice to duplicate those purchases is out of date.

Why are there no fixed prices here?

Use the current menu for a purchase decision. The guide focuses on the bottleneck and avoids treating an incomplete launch-week price list as a current catalog.
